Lesson fees and payment

Lessons of 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour lessons will be scheduled once a week. Additional lessons can be scheduled (as time is available) to help prepare for an important audition or concert. Lessons are taught during the school year and during the summer. Private lesson fees may be paid monthly by either cash, check, or Venmo. Please contact me regarding questions about lesson fees. 

Rates:

The lesson rates are as follows: 

• $32 per 30 minutes 
• $48 per 45 minutes 
• $64 per 60 minutes 

Preliminary Lesson

The first lesson will be free of charge as it is used for Mrs. Bressler to get to know the abilities and interests of the student. The preliminary lesson will be 45 minutes regardless of what length of lesson you wish to pursue. 

Materials

When students need books, you will choose if you’d prefer Mrs. Bressler to buy the books and you reimburse her, or she can provide you with the names of the books and you can order them on your own.

Payment

• Except for the first lesson (which is free), invoices will be emailed by the first full week of the month for services rendered during the previous month. 
• Invoices should be paid in full within 15 days of receiving the invoice. 
• A late fee of $10 will be charged for monthly payments not received within 30 days of the dated invoice. 
• If payment is not received within 45 days of the dated invoice, lessons will be postponed/terminated until the account balance is paid in full.
• Checks written out to Carolyn Bressler, venmo, PayPal, or cash are all acceptable methods of payment.
• A $20 fee will be charged for all returned checks. 

Above fees are if students travel to Mrs. Bressler – if students require that Mrs. Bressler travel to their house, there will be an extra fee based on mileage.

• 24 hour notification is required for all missed lessons.  
• In the event of an emergency, notify me as soon as possible. 
• If you fail to give notification of your absence more than 24 hours in advance you will still be charged for the lesson. 
• If notification is given more than 24 hours ahead of time, I will attempt to make up the lesson.  
  • If I am unable to make up the lesson, you will not be charged. 
• Students are expected to arrive at their lesson on time. Your lesson time will not be extended if you arrive late. 
• It is not usually acceptable to cancel lessons because of a birthday party, sporting event or other social activity.  
• The student is allowed one missed lesson every 3 months that they will not be charged for (regardless of the reason).
• Mrs. Bressler reserves the right to cancel a lesson for any reason. No charges will be assessed if she must cancel a lesson.

In the event of a school closure due to inclement weather, lessons will be conducted via Google Meet or Zoom.  I will contact students the morning of their regularly scheduled lesson to schedule a lesson time.
